West Ham United young talent Keenan Appiah-Forson in line for game time v Cambridge United

West Ham will play a friendly game against Cambridge United on Tuesday night [6 December] and Keenan Appiah-Forson is in line to get some minutes.

According to a report from Football.London, the 21-year-old has impressed the club’s senior coaches at Rush Green, where he scored in a small-sided game in training.

Forson latched onto the shot after Pablo Fornals had hit the post and he finished past goalkeeper Darren Randolph from close range. He was later involved in a good team move that led to an Aaron Cresswell goal.

The fact that he has been used in first-team training ahead of the game, gives an indication that Forson is likely to get some minutes against Cambridge tomorrow.

The Hammers have six players participating in the World Cup of which Thilo Kehrer is expected to return shortly after Germany were eliminated from the group stages.

There’s still a lot of time left for the Premier League to restart, and David Moyes will want his players to get into proper shape.

Moyes is likely to give some minutes to young players and Forson could be one of them. Declan Rice and Lucas Paqueta are currently participating in the World Cup, and Moyes is short on midfield options.

Forson has already played for the senior team. He has made just one appearance in the Europa Conference League this season, and the club rate him highly.

Ahead of the match, Moyes has received a big boost as summer signing Maxwel Cornet is now fully fit and he is raring to go. He has missed a chunk of action with injuries, but he is now ready to step up.

However, another summer signing, Emerson is missing from the training. He broke his nose before the World Cup break, and he was nowhere to be seen.
