West Ham United to hold May talks with Paulo Fonseca as David Moyes decision made
West Ham United are ready to hold talks with Paulo Fonseca over their soon-to-be-vacant manager’s position in May, according to CaughtOffside.
The outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (30 April) that the Hammers are set to part ways with David Moyes at the end of the season are are now ready to hold discussions with Lille boss Fonseca as his replacement.
Foseca’s name has caught the eye of those in charge at the London Stadium and sources in East London suggest that the Irons will offer the 51-year-old a very good contract to tempt him into making the switch.
Several other clubs are interested in securing the Portuguese manager’s services this summer, but his entire focus remains on finishing the season strongly with Lille despite ongoing speculation.
Will West Ham United sack David Moyes and appoint Paulo Fonseca at the London Stadium?
It has been clear for some time now that Moyes is unlikely to extend his stay with West Ham as speculation around his potential successor continues with a variety of names being linked with the position.
Fonseca has impressed during his tenure at Lille and would certainly represent the younger more attack-minded name that a number of Hammers supporters have been pining for, for large parts of the season under Moyes.
These talks that will reportedly be held in May could well be crucial to whether or not the Portuguese boss is the man to take over in the Irons dugout. A big contract could be enough to lure him away from other potential suitors.

Hopefully, the project and the London Stadium will be enough to convince Fonseca that this is a job worth taking. Leaving these talks so close to the end of the season could carry a lot of jeopardy for the Hammers as they approach the transfer window.
If all goes well, this could be a masterstroke, but West Ham will be hoping they don’t repeat what happened with Ruben Amorim only a matter of days ago.
