Atletico Madrid are also interested in signing Corinthians star Wesley alongside West Ham United this summer, according to Goal.

The outlet reported on its website on Monday (29 April) that the Spanish giants have shown interest in signing the Brazilian star in the last few days as they look for a new striker who is capable of playing out wide.

Real Betis have also previously shown an interest in signing the teenager, who can leave Corinthians in the summer transfer window, alongside the Hammers, but their interest has yet to transform into a genuine offer.

The Hammers have reportedly already submitted a second bid worth an initial £15.3million after the Brazilian club rejected their initial approach for the 19-year-old's signature [ESPN, 29 April].

Will Wesley join West Ham United amid summer transfer speculation at the London Stadium?

The Hammers need to strengthen in a number of areas as the summer transfer window approaches at the London Stadium and while he is unproven in Europe, Wesley certainly seems like a bright prospect for the Irons to consider.

At only 19 years old, the winger still has plenty of time to grow and improve and it is clear that he is a genuine talent if the likes of Atletico Madrid are considering him ahead of the summer transfer window.

The teenager is also capable of playing as a recognised number nine, something West Ham desperately need as this season they have once again been reliant on the goals of both Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio to climb the Premier League table.

Whether or not the Hammers have what it takes to beat the likes of Atletico Madrid to the Brazilian's signature, but with reports suggesting the Irons are the only team to make a genuine offer, they could well be leading the race.

Hopefully, they don't miss their chance and find a way to get this deal over the line.
