West Ham United starting XI v Eintracht Frankfurt

West Ham have confirmed their starting XI for their Europa League semi-final second-leg clash this evening [May 5] away at Eintracht Frankfurt.

David Moyes and his team will be looking to book their place in the final in Seville by overcoming the 2-1 deficit suffered at the London Stadium last time out.

Confirmed prior to kick-off on Twitter, the Scot decided to back Alphonse Areola in goal and bring back Michail Antonio in striker in four changes for the Irons.

Nerves.

The nerves are really starting to kick in now ahead of the Hammers’ biggest game in recent history.

Every single one of the players can be so proud to have made it this far but the job is far from done and it won’t mean anything unless they get what they deserve – the Europa League trophy.

Nobody would have expected this at the start of the season but West Ham have exceeded all expectation this season.

Moyes and the team would have been bitterly disappointed to have lost the first-leg, especially with it being at home, but they have tonight to make up for it.

The Irons actually played a very good game against the Bundesliga outfit last week but their criticalness in box boxes was the decisive factor in winning the game.

That shouldn’t invade the players’ minds too much given their excellent form in all of their second leg knockout games thus far in the tournament.

One game stands in the way of the Hammers and a European final – hopefully, the players can give the fans a night to remember in Germany.

In other West Ham news, a BBC pundit has urged West Ham to sign a £40million rated Chelsea wantaway, saying he would be a “great fit”.
