West Ham United-linked Santiago Gimenez sends three-word message to Edson Alvarez after Mexico win v Honduras
Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez has sent a three-word message to West Ham United midfielder Edson Alvarez.
It comes after the latter scored for Mexico in their 2-0 CONCACAF Nations League quarter-final second leg win over Honduras on Wednesday (22 November).
Also playing the match was Gimenez, who West Ham boss David Moyes wants to sign after tracking him for some time [Mirror, 19 November].

Taking to social media to celebrate, Alvarez wrote on Instagram: “I don’t have any reason to say I’m blessed. Thank you my God, you never give up on me. Thank you all for your support.
And among those commenting was Feyenoord sensation and fellow Mexican Gimenez, who wrote: “That’s crazy bruh!!!”

Top talents
Mexico certainly have plenty of talented players among their ranks, with the nation currently being led by Hammers ace Alvarez.
Perhaps the midfield maestro can now work some magic off the field and convince his compatriot Gimenez to join him at the London Stadium.
A similar case has already taken place in East London, with Alvarez’s former Ajax teammate Mohammed Kudus following him to the club in the summer.
Gimenez has stayed in the Eredivisie, where the 22-year-old has banged in 13 goals in just 12 matches so far, as well as netting two goals from his two Champions League games.
It seems that the striker will not be there for much longer, with a battle certain to take place for his services, either in January or next summer.
Hammers boss Moyes will be desperate for his club to be among the top suitors, with the manager definitely needing a new striker among his ranks.
In other West Ham news, a journalist has told a “red-hot” Hammers ace what he “must” do to land a Euro 2024 place after the recent international break.
