West Ham United: Jamie O’Hara makes David Moyes sack claim as Graham Potter appointment mooted

Jamie O’Hara says David Moyes would be “mad” not to sign his new West Ham contract as he raised a question about Graham Potter.

Moyes confirmed last week he has been offered fresh terms by the club but will hold off before deciding whether to stay on at London Stadium.

When a caller rang up talkSPORT [26 February, 10:40pm] to say he wants Moyes to stay in charge, O’Hara responded: “What about Potter?”

The former Tottenham midfielder then added of Moyes: “He ain’t leaving. It’ll be interesting. I think he’d be mad to walk away from West Ham.”

David Moyes future at West Ham still uncertain

West Ham’s 4-2 victory against Brentford on Monday (26 February) has undoubtedly lifted some of the gloom around London Stadium.

As is often the case, a win for Moyes ensures the questions surrounding his future die down, while the opposite is true with every defeat.

There are those who are dead set one way or another on their Moyes stance, though – there is absolutely no persuading them otherwise.

The bottom line is that the Scotsman is in charge of his own future. The issue is that he may take another three months to decide what he wants.

West Ham cannot afford to be left in the lurch, especially when there are one or two managers out there waiting to be snapped up – Potter and Thomas Tuchel being two of them. Or some even still in a job.

As O’Hara says, Moyes would be mad to reject the deal if it has been offered to him, but he needs to come to a decision one way or another.
