West Ham United hold intermediary talks to move Giovanni Simeone to London Stadium

West Ham United have held talks with intermediaries over the signing of Hellas Verona striker Giovanni Simeone, according to Toby Cudworth.

The 90min journalist has reported that the Irons have been in contact to get the South American talisman to the London Stadium for the 2022-23 season and beyond.

David Moyes is clearly in the market for a new striker with Michail Antonio having no partner or competition since Sebastien Haller left back in January 2021.

Speaking on the latest episode of Talking Transfers for 90min, Cudworth shared the latest as the Hammers look to bring in a new striker this summer.

“West Ham are also looking at Giovanni Simeone,” he said.

“Talks have been held with intermediaries about moving him to the London Stadium.”

West Ham United must be desperate for a new striker.

It would make no sense whatsoever should we go through another window and not bring in a player to make a huge difference in the final third.

Armando Broja is said to be another target with talks said to be held with representatives at Chelsea in the past 24 hours to bring down the valuation [ExWHUemployee].

The 26-year-old was in great form last season in Serie A, scoring 17 goals and adding six assists in his 36 games, with a move certainly deserved if it happens.

Rob Newman is keeping a close eye on the Italian market, and Simeone must be top of his targets list should a mve for Broja not work out in the end.

Moyes is crying out for new options to call upon, and Antonio will be too, with the chance for rotation and competition something that will work out perfectly – that is the hope anyway.
