West Ham have made no contact over £12.7m midfielder – Sky Sports

West Ham United have made no contact with Marseille over the possibility of bringing Dimitri Payet back to the London Stadium, according to Sky Sports.

It was suggested that the French club value Payet at £12.7million, but that the Hammers are not interested in resigning the 32-year-old this month.

According to the report, the Hammers remain unhappy with how the French international forced his way into leaving the club in a £25million move three years ago.

Payet has been involved in nine goals in his 16 Ligue 1 appearances this season, but the French side still remain nine points off leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

His three shots on goal and average of 4.1 key passes per game are very impressive, but that doesn’t mean that the Hammers can look past how they were treated previously by the playmaker [WhoScored].

David Moyes will surely be looking for a younger option for his midfield who can push forward and deliver more support for the increasingly isolated Sebastien Haller.

Sky Sports also suggested that West Ham have been offered Nantes holding midfielder, Abdoulaye Toure.

The 25-year-old would be the smarter addition, with the Irons struggling for options in the heart of their side. Mark Noble and Declan Rice are first-choice, but behind them, the likes of Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere are either not good enough or simply pick up too many injuries.

Toure would offer much-needed competition, and the fact he has been offered could suggest he may be available for a cheap price this month.
