West Ham speed up defender transfer after Angelo Ogbonna blow
West Ham United have pushed the accelerator to complete a deal for a new defender this week, according to ExWHUemployee.
Angelo Ogbonna has picked up an injury in pre-season, and that has led to David Moyes making this area a priority for the Irons.
It is suggested that a deal could be completed soon, as talks start to intensify with a couple of targets at the London Stadium.

Writing on the West Ham Way Patreon, Ex shared the update on Saturday that could see an announcement coming imminently.
“I can confirm, as I have done before, that the centre back position is the position that the club wants to complete first,” he wrote.
“This is where our attention is focused at the moment and should be where the next signing is made. There are a couple of players in the mix but the club hopes to complete soon although nothing is that close at the moment.
“Ogbonna’s injury has sped up this priority.”

Deal coming.
Craig Dawson arrived as somewhat of an emergency signing on loan last season but quickly became one of our best defenders.
That move has since been made permanent, and Issa Diop is the only other fit central defender available to Moyes with only two weeks until the season.
Fabian Balbuena has left the club, and it looks as though Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma is the prime target.
We are reportedly offering £20million but may need to up that to at least £25million to get the deal over the line.
As mentioned, this could hopefully speed up in the next week, and another defender could be brought in imminently.
