West Ham sent scouts to watch the EFL Trophy match between Charlton Athletic and Southampton Under-21s, according to All Nigeria Soccer.
They claim that the Irons were watching “exciting” talents from both teams and were joined by scouts from Manchester United and Chelsea.
All Nigeria Soccer names Oludare Olufunwa, Zuriel Otseh-Taiwo, Deji Elerewe, and Diallang Jaiyesimi as the players of interest – apparently, Elerwere “caught the eye”.

Since David Moyes returned to the London Stadium, the Irons have bought young and hungry players, and it seems as if they are still looking at doing that.
Of course, you would imagine that the Irons sent loads of scouts to a lot of games, but it is interesting that All Nigeria Soccer have picked this up.

It seems as if Charlton’s Elerwere played very well, and it will be intriguing to see if the Hammers consider a move for him in the near future.
The Irons have plenty of first-team centre-backs, but the addition of a player like Elerwere to the youth squad could be a good addition.
However, it remains to be seen what happens and if the West Ham scouts were impressed enough to recommend any of the players they watched to the board or Moyes.
