Tough for West Ham United to sign Piotr Zielinski as Napoli lost many important players

West Ham will find it really hard to sign Piotr Zielinski this summer, as per Fabrizio Romano.

The Guardian journalist told Give Me Sport on 3 August that the Hammers have asked for the Polish international, but Napoli are unlikely to sell him as they have already lost several important players.

The Naples club are demanding a fee of around £33.5m for Zielinski, who has spent all his playing career in Italy.

“Zielinski is difficult because Napoli want at least €40 million (£33.5m),” said Romano to Give Me Sport.

“They have already lost many important players; Insigne, Koulibaly, many, many key players for the team and so Zielinski is absolutely not easy. It’s true that West Ham asked for him, but it’s not an easy one.”

Difficult

It looks really difficult for the Hammers to pull off a deal for Zielinski.

As per Calciomercato, the 28-year-old wants to stay in Napoli, and chances are high that he could be offered a new deal at the club.

Zielinski is a vastly experienced midfielder who has made over 280 appearances for the Naples club, spanning over six seasons.

While the Hammers could still be able to reach an agreement with Napoli, the major problem will be to convince the player to leave Italy and join the Premier League.

Bolstering the midfield is a priority for David Moyes, and it looks like the Hammers could land yet another player shortly.

Flynn Downes has been added to the ranks, while the Hammers have agreed on a deal to bring Amadou Onana from Lille to the London Stadium.

Should the signing be sealed in the next few days, West Ham may completely ditch their plans to move for Zielinski.
