Thomas Tuchel to West Ham United could ‘fall into place’ amid David Moyes sack decision – journo
West Ham United could look to move for Thomas Tuchel after Bayern Munich confirmed he would leave the club at the end of the season.
The Bundesliga giants announced on Wednesday morning (21 February) that the ex-Chelsea boss would see his contract terminated a year early this summer, with the team left eight points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the race for the title currently.
West Ham have been linked with the Champions League-winning boss as a potential replacement for David Moyes should the veteran boss leave the London Stadium at the end of his contract, and journalist Dean Jones says a deal could be falling into place now with Tuchel’s exit confirmed.
Is Thomas Tuchel the dream West Ham appointment?
If West Ham want to get serious and really start pushing for European places and competing with the elite, then they need an elite manager in charge.
Moyes has done a great job at the London Stadium but as has been said over and over again, he has taken the team as far as he can and the relationship with the fans has been broken beyond repair at this point.
It’s an easy move to allow Moyes’ contract to expire and then replace him in the summer, and with Tuchel now out of work he could be open to coming in and working with this squad.
Players like Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus are a fantastic base to build a team around and Tuchel is excellent when it comes to building a solid defensive base too.
It would be a real statement of intent from the club if they were able to secure a deal for Tuchel, and with Tim Steidten said to be confident of getting a deal done it is definitely one to keep an eye on in the coming months.
