Stelling and McCoist share ‘massive’ Jarrod Bowen exit verdict at West Ham
Ally McCoist believes Jarrod Bowen is a Champions League-level player but will be content with his life at West Ham.
The Hammers captain grabbed an assist on Monday night (25 November) in a superb showing in the 2-0 win away against Newcastle United.
This has seen praise piled on the England international with his future being questioned by Jeff Stelling live on talkSPORT on Tuesday (26 November).
He said: “He was excellent and he is excellent. He’s clearly extremely happy where he is. I think he could play for other sides who are higher up the table at the moment.”
McCoist replied: “Of course he could, there is absolutely no doubt about it. The first thing I would qualify by saying, I don’t think he’s too good to play for West Ham, he’s an excellent player, but could he play at Champions League level? Yes.
“I think that’s the point that he is trying to make and I agree. Never underestimate the importance of being at a comfortable position in your life. He’s obviously really happy there, he’s content with his surroundings at the club and away from it and that’s a massive factor.”
Ally McCoist speaks out on Jarrod Bowen West Ham future
The 27-year-old has proved to be one of the best-ever signings made by the Irons given his impact since coming in from Hull City.
This has seen him score the winner in the Conference League final before being named as club captain for the current campaign.
Despite a frustrating start to the season for the East London club under Julen Lopetegui, the Englishman has continued to catch the eye.
This could arguably see the forward be in line to complete a transfer to a top-level club after links to Newcastle in the summer transfer window [iNews].

The Magpies featured in the Champions League last season but the Irons compiled misery on their poor start to the season with their 2-0 win.
This proved a point for Bowen that he is in the right place but if interest from an elite side came in, it may prove to be a different story.
