Stan Collymore predicts outcome of West Ham clash v Arsenal
West Ham travel to the Emirates to face London rivals Arsenal in the first Premier League game after the World Cup on Boxing Day (26 December).
Writing his column for the Sunday People (25 December), Stan Collymore has predicted a “narrow” 1-0 win for the Gunners, which could see them “stick or twist” in the January transfer window.
The Hammers have badly underperformed in the first half of the season, and David Moyes is under a lot of pressure at the moment.

“A narrow win that will just keep Nagging away as to whether Arsenal stick or twist in the transfer market,” wrote Collymore.
Turnaround
The Hammers find themselves 16th in the league table at the moment, and Moyes could struggle to keep his job.
Moyes has done an incredible job for the club since taking charge but the results have been very disappointing. He was backed in the summer transfer window with funds, but the results haven’t gone their way.
They have lost games on their home turf and their away form has been equally poor. They have a very good squad, but Moyes somehow has failed to get the best out of his players.

The summer signings need to step up. The likes of Gianluca Scamacca, Lucas Paqueta, Maxwell Cornet, and Nayef Aguerd are top-quality players in their own right, and they should be able to make a strong impact.
It remains to be seen how West Ham approach the January window. Moyes has made it clear that he won’t buy players for the sake of it, and would only bring someone in if there’s an injury crisis.
