Ryan Fredericks to seal West Ham exit and join Bournemouth this week

Ryan Fredericks will reportedly seal his West Ham exit and join newly-promoted Premier League side Bournemouth this week.

According to the Daily Mirror on June 22, the senior Hammers full-back will officially seal his London Stadium exit after four years at the club.

He will stay on in the English top flight and reunite with his former Fulham teammate Scott Parker at the Vitality Stadium.

Good riddance

It’s a shame the Hammers did not cash in on his services earlier given the fact that they had Ben Johnson who was more than capable of taking over from Vladimir Coufal.

In fact, the young Englishman was better than the first-choice right-back – demoting Fredericks to third in the pecking order.

That was the sign for the club hierarchy to cash in on Fredericks and despite him being available and for sale in January, they failed to sell him.

It’s off-the-field decisions like this one as to why West Ham fail to climb that next level and become a perennial top six club in the England.

Even this summer, their transfer activity appears to be extremely slow which leads to wonder how ambitious the club’s owners really are.

Failure to strengthen the squad properly will make things tougher for David Moyes and his job could be on the line due to no fault of his own.

He’s arguably the best Hammers manager this century and to not back him properly would be extremely naive, but that’s something fans have come to expect from their owners.
