Ruben Loftus-Cheek wants to stay at Chelsea amid West Ham interest

West Ham have “weighed up” move for Ruben Loftus-Cheek in recent months, according to the Daily Mail.

Everton and Roma are also interested while Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has floated the idea of another move for the midfielder.

The 26-year-old, who scored Chelsea’s deadlock breaking opener against Palace, wants to stay at the London club after earning the trust of his Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

Need for a midfielder

West Ham need to bolster their midfield areas among other positions.

Mark Noble is set to retire at the end of the season following the expiry of his contract, and David Moyes needs to sign a player to fill the huge hole.

Nikola Vlasic has struggled in his first season at the club. Moyes has heavily relied on the pair of Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek throughout the campaign, but there is a lack of depth in the central midfield area.

Loftus-Cheek, a Premier League winner with Chelsea, would be a good signing for the Hammers, but it won’t be easy to lure him away.

Obviously, West Ham can tempt him with the offer of regular first-team football. He has made over 100 appearances for the Blues and previously impressed during loan spells at Fulham and Crystal Palace.

Everton could be another good option for him where he could be reunited with Blues legend Frank Lampard.

At West Ham, he could forge a strong midfield pairing alongside England hero Declan Rice. He is a dynamic midfielder who is capable of performing various roles.

At the moment, it seems, he is particularly not keen to leave Chelsea, but his situation could easily change in the summer.
