West Ham keep close eye on Fleetwood midfielder Paddy Lane
West Ham are keeping tabs on “highly-rated” Fleetwood midfielder Paddy Lane, according to a report from The Mirror (17 April, page 74).
The report claim that the Hammers view Lane as a potential understudy to Jarrod Bowen.
The Irons have watched him closely this season, and the scouts are pretty impressed with what they saw.
The 21-year-old is a fantastic young talent who is making steady progress in his career.
The youngster has made 36 appearances this season in League One, where he scored five goals and provided eight assists.
He has recently made his senior debut for Northern Ireland and has really caught the attention with some fantastic displays.
Lane is an attacking midfielder who can play in all three positions upfront, and he could be a player for the future, although the Hammers can still use him for the first team.
He was nominated this week as Sky Bet League One young player of the season, which shows there a talent, who is worth taking a gamble on.
David Moyes has shown great desire to sign players from lower leagues and the Hammers can snap him up before other potential suitors join the queue.
The summer transfer window is absolutely vital for the Hammers, irrespective of where they finish this season. Moyes would be looking to add new players in several positions, and Lane could be a smart signing.
In other West Ham news, this Iron has bought a new house very far away from the London Stadium to spark exit rumours.
