Reliable source – West Ham starlet has duo of loan offers tabled this month
West Ham youngster Anthony Scully has loan offers from Stevenage and Cambridge United on the table, according to reliable source ExWHUemployee.
The 20-year-old has been in fine form this season, and was even awarded the Premier League 2’s Player of the Month award back in October.
But it is understood that the lower league pair are keen on giving him a taste of senior football with a temporary stint away from east London.
Ex made the announcement via his personal Twitter account, while also suggesting that Leyton Orient have tabled a loan offer for attacking midfielder Dan Kemp.
There is no indication as to whether either player is likely to join any of the clubs mentioned.
Would this be a good move for Scully?
Without a doubt, yes.
The youngster is a real talent, as illustrated by his eye-catching form in the Premier League 2 this season, but he will only reach his full potential by playing regular senior minutes.
At 20, he is on the cusp of that age bracket where he needs to be really kicking on, and with the likes of Nathan Holland and Conor Coventry already heading out on loan this term, it makes sense for him to take the plunge too.
We’ve already seen how good a loan spell can be for a player’s development and reputation, with both Grady Diangana and Josh Cullen impressing in the Championship, and there’s no reason to believe that Scully couldn’t undergo a similar process in League Two.
