Maxwel Cornet and Kurt Zouma return to West Ham United training ahead of Nottingham Forest clash
Kurt Zouma and Maxwel Cornet are back in training for West Ham after injury ahead of their crunch Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.
The French defender has been out since suffering a quadriceps injury in the win over Everton, where he played through the game but struggled afterwards, while Cornet hasn’t featured for almost five months owing to a calf problem.
But according to Football.London journalist Jonty Colman, both players have now returned to training ahead of the weekend fixture where David Moyes’ job could potentially be on the line.
“On the good news front, Maxwel Cornet and Kurt Zouma have both been pictured back in training!” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (21 February).
“Cornet has not played in almost five months.”
Huge
Moyes needs a miracle right now to be able to get West Ham fans back on side considering how this season has gone, and this could be it.
Defensively the team always looks so much better when Zouma is in it and his return from injury will be a hugely welcome boost in a must-win game.

But Cornet is the far bigger boost, considering the fact he was brought in to add creativity, goals and assists to the front line and he hasn’t been able to deliver that because of fitness issues.
Having him available to play against Forest would be a massive upgrade on the current options because of his pace and directness, and it would give Moyes something new to work with that he’s lacked in recent months.
It’s a must-win game for the Hammers and with key players beginning to make their way back into the team it could be exactly what Moyes needs to get us out of trouble and keep himself in a job.
