Kurt Zouma could miss month of West Ham United action after injury v Everton
Kurt Zouma could miss a month of action after the West Ham defender suffered a thigh injury in the Hammers’ win over Everton, according to ExWHUemployee.
Ex has claimed in his latest Patreon update (24 January) that Zouma reported bruising to his thigh after the win at the London Stadium.
It appeared the Frenchman was unconcerned with the issue at first, however, following a scan he appears to have sustained a more severe issue.
It’s also been suggested Zouma is known for recovering quickly from injuries and that the club will be hoping for something similar after this “massive” setback.
It’s believed the Hammers will now move into the loan market for another centre-half with Craig Dawson no longer at the club.
Zouma has suffered some terrible luck of late and this is the latest in a long list of injuries. David Moyes will now look to the loan market to provide some cover. Jan Bednarek is a player the Irons were after in the summer and it would not be a shock to see West Ham reignite their interest in the former Aston Villa loanee.
Apart from a central defender, it seems unlikely for the Hammers to add another player to their ranks. West Ham now have a welcome break from Premier League commitments as they travel to League One side Derby County on Monday evening (30 January).
Although the Premier League is the main focus, an FA Cup run is long overdue at the London Stadium and could well be the catalyst for some good domestic form for Moyes’ side.
On the transfer front, it seems unlikely any more players will depart the club. Michail Antonio was linked with a move to Wolves but after Gianluca Scamacca’s latest injury, it seems extremely unlikely that he will depart the club.
