Mark Lawrenson predicts the outcome of Wolves v West Ham

West Ham will travel to Molineux to face Wolves on Saturday in the Premier League.

Popular football pundit Mark Lawrenson has predicted a 2-1 victory for the Hammers.

Wolves lost 2-0 against Crystal Palace in their last game, and Lawrenson feels they will suffer a “similar outcome” this weekend as well.

David Moyes’ side are in fantastic form at the moment and jumped into the third spot after beating Liverpool 3-2 in their previous game.

Lawrenson has suggested that the Hammers were “excellent” during the game, and were “almost perfect” against the Reds.

“Wolves saw their good run ended with a home defeat by Crystal Palace and I think this will end up with a similar outcome,” wrote Lawrenson for BBC Sport.

“West Ham are sweeping all before them at the moment and they got an excellent win over Liverpool last time out. Tactically, the Hammers were almost perfect in that game too.”

Momentum

At this moment, it looks near perfect for the Hammers. We are above Liverpool in the league table and are in a healthy position to secure a top-four finish.

We have booked a place in the Europa League knock-out phase, and we have got a quarter-final date with our London rivals Tottenham in the EFL Cup. There’s plenty to look forward to.

Having said that, it’s an unforgiving league, and we need to keep the momentum going. With no international break coming up till March, this phase is absolutely crucial that could define our season.

We also need to plan for January. We need a back-up defender after Angelo Ogbonna’s injury while signing a striker is also a priority.

Wolves have been in good form recently, picking up for wins and two draws in their last seven games. This should be a tight contest, but we’ve enough quality to pick up all three points.

In other West Ham news, a player labelled ‘Dreadful’ by Alan Curbishley is likely to replace one of David Moyes’ first-team regulars for the Wolves clash
