KV Mechelen goalkeeper Gaetan Coucke open to West Ham summer move
KV Mechelen goalkeeper Gaetan Coucke is reportedly open to joining West Ham in the summer.
According to Het Nieuwsblad, the Hammers are also eyeing a move for the 23-year-old as they’re looking to sign a keeper once the transfer window opens.
It is understood that a fee in the region of £675,000 would be enough to secure his services this summer.

Can do better?
The Hammers may need a keeper if they do not manage to sign Alphonse Areola permanently.
He’s still fighting to first choice and may not want to wait for another season if Lukasz Fabianski is still at the club.
The Serbian is clearly David Moyes’ preferred option between the sticks, leaving Areola resigned to playing in cup games.
Coucke is a young keeper but he’s still unproven and may not be ready to be the club’s number two just yet.

Once he proves himself in a more competitive league, then it makes sense for the Hammers to take a leap of faith in him.
However, as things stand, they’re better off looking at more established keepers in Europe’s top five leagues.
If Areola is the number one and Fabianksi is willing to play second fiddle then a lot of their transfer problems will be solved.
In other West Ham news, the club want to sign a ‘Brilliant’ Chelsea player who will tick a major box for David Moyes in the summer.
