Jack Grealish blown away by Declan Rice’s goal in Zagreb v West Ham
West Ham kicked off their Europa League campaign with a 2-0 victory at Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday night, with Declan Rice impressing.
The England international captained his side and capped his wonderful performance with a superb goal that helped seal victory for the Hammers.
Rice ran all the way from inside his own half to double his side’s lead, and Manchester City attacker Jack Grealish was impressed with the manner in which the goal came, taking to his personal Twitter account after it to react.
He said: “I told you Declan Rice. You should be higher than 66 pace on EA SPORTS FIFA”
The post saw Rio Ferdinand react thus:
Wonderful performance
Rice made his European debut for West Ham and was unfazed by the occasion despite playing away from home and in front of some hostile fans.
The midfielder has always craved playing continental football at club level, and he rose to the occasion with an outstanding performance.
The Hammers ace does not score a lot of goals, but when he does find the back of the net, it comes in spectacular fashion.
Rice is not the fastest player around, but he displayed incredible pace in Croatia, and EA SPORTS should be considering improving his pace in their next release.
His suitors would have been watching the game with keen interest just to see how he would fare in Europe, and with performances like that, David Moyes’ side could find it hard to hold on to him for long.
West Ham would be keen to have a good run in the competition and hopefully win it, and anything is possible with someone like Rice on top of his game.
