ExWHUemployee: West Ham United in talks over double transfer raid on Chelsea

West Ham United are in talks with Chelsea over Conor Gallagher and Hakim Ziyech as David Moyes looks to add to his squad before Tuesday’s deadline, according to ExWHUemployee.

TalkSPORT suggest (30 January) the Hammers are interested in Gallagher, although Everton have made a £45million bid for the midfielder.

Ex has since reported (Patreon update, 30 January) that discussions have taken place with Chelsea over a potential double loan swoop for the former Crystal Palace loanee and Ziyech.

“We have heard that we have discussed some potential deals with Chelsea. These players are meant to be Gallagher and Ziyech and if a loan deal was an option we could be tempted,” wrote the reliable Hammers’ source.

“Of course, Chelsea may also have been touching base with us over the Declan Rice situation too. Whilst it is unclear whether we would sanction either deal Moyes was very keen on Gallagher in the summer although he has a lot of clubs currently interested in him including former loan club Palace.

“The possibility of a transfer for Ziyech was exclusively broke on our Patreon last week.”

With Chelsea on the verge of signing Enzo Fernandes for a British-record transfer fee, there’s a chance they could well be willing to let some of their lesser stars depart. Gallagher in particular will see his game time heavily impacted by the influx of new players at Stamford Bridge and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he leaves the club before the window slams shut.

West Ham are probably a relatively attractive option for the midfielder. It’s believed a move to Everton doesn’t appeal to the 22-year-old and it’s understandable to see why. The Toffees are in a dire state at the moment and there’s a good chance they could well be playing Championship football next season unless something drastic changes.

The Hammers are by no means out of a relegation battle but their squad is certainly more appealing than Everton’s. Moyes has a number of players who could well hit some sort of form in the second half of the campaign to propel West Ham rapidly up the table. A loan move for Gallagher is certainly one to keep an eye on.
