ExWHUemployee shares update on West Ham United ace Gianluca Scamacca after injury news drops
ExWHUemployee has denied that Gianluca Scamacca has suffered an injury for West Ham during training after rumours started on Monday night (5 December).
The Italy international is training with the squad after his nation failed to qualify for the World Cup, and it was expected that he would take part in the friendlies that the club have arranged.
However news broke through injury expert Ben Dinnery that Scamacca had suffered a muscular injury and was out for an undisclosed amount of time, but ExWHUemployee took to his Patreon (5 December) account to clarify what he had been told about the situation.
“Reports have broken from injury expert Ben Dinnery that Italian forward Gianluca Scamacca has been ruled out for an “unknown period” of time with an injury,” he wrote.
“Unless Scamacca has reported something this evening to the medical staff and this has got back to Ben (and not some of our sources) we can confirm that he was in training today and showed no signs of injury.
“We will get confirmation of the team tomorrow (Tuesday) for the Cambridge game and it will be interesting to see if he is involved, which we are lead to believe he will be.”
The last thing we need now is our biggest goal threat being ruled out injured just before the season resumes having been off for over a month.
Scamacca has become a fan favourite since moving to West Ham, scoring goals and showing great link up play, even if his numbers haven’t been the most impressive.
But he is now firmly the number one striker in the squad, so any injury would obviously be a huge blow to David Moyes’ plans to improve the performances of the side and move the team away from the relegation zone and up the table.
More news will clearly come out as the day goes on and we get closer to the clash with Arsenal, but for now fans all over east London and beyond will be praying that Dinnery was misinformed and that Ex is on the money as usual.
