West Ham United: Gianluca Scamacca and Kurt Zouma ruled out with no return date - Injury Expert
West Ham United duo Gianluca Scamacca and Kurt Zouma have been ruled out of action for the foreseeable with no return date confirmed, according to Injury Expert Ben Dinnery.
The Hammers return to action on 26 December with a trip to Premier League leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium after the World Cup.
Injury Expert Dinnery revealed that there is “No Return Date” for both Scamacca and Zouma but highlighted Hammers winger Maxwel Cornet will return to action soon.
“No Return Date,” stated Dinnery regarding Zouma and Scamacca on his Premier Injuries website.
The Injury Expert did, however, provide some positive news for the Irons stating that Cornet could potentially return on 26 December for the Arsenal clash.
Worrying.
Two big injuries to two massive players for the Hammers are worrying, especially when the team massively need a good string of results when Premier League action returns.
With the Hammers sitting just one point above the dreaded drop, it’s going to be an anxious few weeks to see what David Moyes can conjure up.
The pressure will certainly mount on Moyes if the Scot fails to win any of the returning games, it could spell a disastrous turn of events for West Ham United.
A relegation battle is the last thing anyone expected after this summer’s investment and it’s hard to see the likes of Declan Rice and Lucas Paqueta staying at the club if they suffered a calamitous campaign.
Fortunately, the Irons can rely on Michael Antonio to come into their forward ranks to replace Scamacca and he should be fit and firing after the extended break.
This is one saving grace in some otherwise frustrating news.
