ExWHUemployee shares if Gianluca Scamacca stormed home before West Ham United win v Southampton
ExWHUemployee has shared that Gianluca Scamacca did not storm out of the London Stadium before West Ham United’s 1-0 win over Southampton.
The Italian striker was pictured at the stadium by Sky Sports cameras but seen leaving before the teams were announced, and he was ultimately not named in the squad.
But writing on his Patreon (2 April), Ex shared that the player was still suffering with a knee injury and it was decided by the club that they would not be risking him for the game and so he was allowed to go home.

“We can reveal that Scamacca was in to have his ankle looked at and have treatment at the stadium as planned,” he wrote.
“He then left the stadium after his treatment had finished.
“He didn’t storm home and this was all planned this morning. The club had decided not to risk his knees in this game as we reported earlier.”
Positive
Scamacca’s future is definitely a hot topic right now and it seems to be believed by many that he doesn’t want to be here, despite noise from inside West Ham suggesting otherwise.
That footage from Sunday’s game certainly didn’t help to stop that narrative, however it seems more than fair to believe the explanation given.

For starters Ex is rarely wrong about these things, but also Moyes revealed before the game that he was an injury doubt and he has had problems for much of this season.
With Danny Ings and Michail Antonio both fit and competing for a place, risking him made little sense and it’s better that he gets extra recovery in before Newcastle on Wednesday (5 April).
Whether he stays beyond the season or not is unclear, but to doubt his commitment is wrong and he’s done nothing to suggest that we should.
Back him and he’ll score the goals to keep us in the Premier League.
