ExWHUemployee responds to West Ham-Braithwaite reports

West Ham United have no interest in signing Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite this summer, according to ExWHUemployee.

There have been reports that the Irons had agreed a fee with the Spanish giants for the Danish international.

They have been shut down by the club insider, who insisted there have been talks with other targets ongoing.

Writing on the West Ham Way Patreon, Ex shared the major update that left many fans absolutely delighted.

“I can confirm that our supposed bid that has been accepted by Barcelona for Martin Braithwaite is not true.

“There has been no offer made and his age, high wage and lack of consistent scoring in the leagues that he has played in make other options more appealing.

“Talks are continuing with a number of players.”

Sigh of relief.

Braithwaite would offer good experience, but we have that in an abundance at the London Stadium.

Michail Antonio will likely start, and he has been there and done it – we need a big-name player with age on their side to take over.

The Danish international doesn’t have a good scoring record, and we need someone to replicate the goals of Jesse Lingard last season.

Someone such as Breel Embolo, who has been mentioned, is a much better target, and hopefully one of those we are in talks with.

With talks ongoing, there could be some movement in the next week and hopefully announcements made in the coming future.
