ExWHUemployee: Mark Noble to play key role in recruitment of West Ham academy manager
Former West Ham captain Mark Noble will reportedly play a key role in eyeing a replacement for the new academy manager after a recent development.
According to ExWHUemployee on 10 October, Ricky Martin is going to join Stoke City as technical director to the first team.
The search for a replacement is set to now begin as it’s an important behind-the-scenes position that will need filling up as soon as possible.

Ex wrote, “We believe that academy manager Ricky Martin could be about to leave the club to join Stoke City as technical director to the first team.
“Stoke’s manager is Alex Neil and he and Martin worked in very similar roles together at Norwich City. Whilst the move hasn’t officially been confirmed it has been said by a top source that this will ‘probably’ happen.
“Mark Noble is meant to be heavily involved in the recruitment of the new man.”
“We have already been told that Martin is said to have resigned up to 10 days ago so the search for a replacement can begin.”
Good move
Noble recently retired from football and moved to the backroom staff and it’s clear that he wants to help take the club to the next level.
It’s very important that he has a say in this as many of the young players already look up to him as an inspiration.
If the move is backed by Noble, the players will automatically respect him and want to make an early impression on him as he’s likely to begin with a clean slate.
The Hammers legend, who has been admired by Ian Wright, will also keep a keen eye on everything that’s going on in the background and having his green signal is paramount.
Martin did a good job but he feels that he’s better suited to a directorial than a coaching role and we wish him the best of luck with his new job at Stoke.
That move is likely to be announced in the coming days and we’re certain by then West Ham will have some clarity as to who they’re looking to bring in.
