Edin Terzic talks held as West Ham make new manager decision

West Ham United technical director Tim Steidten has made contact with Edin Terzic to possibly replace Julen Lopetegui at the club, according to TBR Football.

The news outlet reports [21 November] that the German is the Hammers’ top candidate to replace the Spaniard in the dugout should he be sacked.

David Sullivan is keen on giving Lopetegui more time, but the Irons’ chairman knows the 58-year-old will need to be sacked if results don’t improve.

West Ham should hire Edin Terzic immediately

Lopetegui has been given enough time at West Ham to implement his ideas but has failed to do so.

The fans backed the dismissal of David Moyes this summer, but they wanted to see a more progressive manager be hired, which the former Wolves manager isn’t.

It’s unsurprising to see the London Stadium faithful lose faith in the Spanish manager, who was backed heavily in the summer transfer window with quality players like Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo and Crycensio Summerville.

The Hammers are currently 14th in the Premier League table and are set to face Newcastle United and Arsenal next.

It would be realistic to predict that the Irons will lose their next two fixtures, which could be detrimental in the relegation battle.

Terzic has a successful track record at an enormous club like Borussia Dortmund, and he was also a part of the backroom staff at West Ham when Slaven Bilic was in charge.

Instead of dragging out the inevitable, it would be prudent for the Hammers to expedite their decision and appoint the German head coach even if Lopetegui gets a positive result at Newcastle on 25 November.
