Simon Jordan believes West Ham United will give Julen Lopetegui time and feels David Sullivan won't focus on recent results.

The Spaniard has been under pressure after a poor start to the season, and the 0-0 draw against Everton on 9 November in the Premier League led to more questions about the 58-year-old's future at the club.

Speaking on talkSPORT [11 November, 12:15], Jordan has argued that Lopetegui won't be sacked by the Hammers anytime soon, but insists Sullivan may have to step in at some point.

"I think it's very early in Lopetegui's tenure to suggest that, ultimately, we should be really writing him off. I don't think West Ham will. I think they will give him a passage of time to try and change the culture, identity, outlook, philosophy, disciplines, motivations, style of play," he said.

"Right now, it's not working. If you're the owner of a football club, you can't just look at the here and now. You can't just look at these individual results.

"At some point, you have to. At some point, you have to make the decision to intercede if indeed you need to. But right now, I don't see that at West Ham.

"I don't see Sullivan or any of his cronies will intercede with Lopetegui. They're going to let him run for a period of time, and that may well be the entire season."

Julen Lopetegui has done nothing at West Ham United

Lopetegui has done nothing in the six months he's been at the club to suggest that Sullivan or the London Stadium faithful should be patient.

The former Wolves head coach has left the team in fourteenth place in the Premier League ahead of the November international break.

Despite the heavy investment West Ham made in the previous transfer window, the Spanish manager has failed to take the team forward, and instead, they have regressed.

It's clear that Lopetegui is out of his depth at the Irons, and a change feels inevitable, considering the club has just won three fixtures in the league this season.

Delaying a change in the dugout will only lead to more challenges in the future for West Ham, and they need to expedite the Spaniard's exit rather than giving him time.

The Hammers supporters have had enough of the 58-year-old, and his continuity will only lead to negativity festering at the London Stadium from now on.
