David Moyes drops Jarrod Bowen and Nayef Aguerd updates as Michail Antonio ruled out for West Ham United v Burnley

West Ham United manager David Moyes has shared injury updates on Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio and Nayef Aguerd.

The Hammers make the trip to Turf Moor on Saturday (25 November) in the first match back for both clubs after the international break.

The visitors go into the Premier League clash sitting ninth in the table, with the home side currently bottom of the standings.

“Michail has got a small injury,” said Moyes, as quoted by the official West Ham website. “It’s not a serious injury. It’s probably going to keep him out for a couple of weeks. I don’t think it’s a serious one though. I think about two or three weeks, give or take.

“We hope Jarrod will be available [for Burnley] but that will be a decision we make on Saturday. It is a bit like a doctor’s surgery at the moment. It’s been difficult for a lot of the international boys because they’ve had late returns. But we think Aguerd will be okay too.”

Bowen needed?

Star winger Bowen has enjoyed a superb season so far, with the attacker banging in the goals in claret and blue. At the same time, however, striker Antonio has been struggling for goals, but Moyes has kept faith with the Jamaican thanks to his all-round team play.

But the latter is certain to miss the trip to Burnley and a few games after given his issue, which is fortunately not as bad as first feared.

Aguerd meanwhile has been heavily utilised at the back this season, forming a strong understanding with fellow central defender Kurt Zouma.

There may be enough in the tank for Moyes to replace Antonio and Aguerd effectively, but finding cover for Bowen could be a problem.

Hammers fans will be desperate that the winger is given the all-clear for the match, which is certain to be a tricky test even with Burnley’s struggles at the bottom of the table this season.
