Charlie Nicholas predicts result in West Ham clash v Manchester United

Charlie Nicholas has predicted that West Ham United will fall to defeat when they travel to take on Manchester United on Wednesday.

The Sky Sports pundit has been impressed with the Irons recently but admitted that they could take their finger off the boil at Old Trafford.

With two left to play, David Moyes will believe that his squad are safe from relegation but they could need a point or two to mathematically confirm that.

Nicholas admitted that Moyes’ men could be worn down over time at Old Trafford, and predicted that it will finish 3-1.

“West Ham have been brilliant since the break, and they will cause Man Utd problems,” he wrote in his prediction blog.

“Could West Ham take their finger off it? Possibly. I could see them sitting in, but if they cannot support Michail Antonio, they will struggle to get out.

“This one is a must-win, which then gives them a cushion of a draw in the last game at Leicester to get into the top four, and they will get over the line in this one. It will be tense but they will wear West Ham down.”

West Ham may relax after their quality win over Watford in their last outing, but Moyes will be pushing his squad to finish hard after a poor season.

There is no hiding from the fact that the Irons’ campaign has been nothing short of disastrous at times, and they must finish higher next season.

Finishing the campaign with memories of a win at Old Trafford and three points against Aston Villa would surely set them up perfectly for next season already.
