Cameron Jerome comments on West Ham's top-four chances

Cameron Jerome has suggested on talkSPORT that West Ham can finish in the top four in the Premier League this season.

The former Norwich City striker has praised David Moyes for taking his side to the knock-out rounds of the Europa League.

Jerome feels that the fourth position in the league is wide open this season, and West Ham have a chance to get in there.

The Hammers managed a 2-2 draw against Genk in the Europa League clash on Thursday night. Moyes made a few changes to the squad keeping in mind Sunday’s massive Premier League clash against Liverpool.

Jerome said: “That top-four spot is open… it’s anyone’s for the taking.”

Right decision from Moyes

Having previously earned three wins already in this competition, Moyes has made the right choice to rotate his squad. Despite a sluggish start, they did well to come back into the game and take a 2-1 lead.

It’s about keeping faith in his players, and Moyes cannot be blamed for this.

In fact, West Ham still have got a very good chance of securing the top position in their group, and they should be aiming for that in their next two games.

Jerome is spot on about the top four race this season. At the moment, it looks like a three-horse title race involving Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.

The fourth place, however, is wide open. The Hammers can cement that position if they can preserve this form, and add a few good players in January.

The likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham (should they improve under Antonio Conte) can equally challenge for that spot, but they have all struggled for consistency.

West Ham will face Liverpool in their next Premier League game on Sunday where a victory will take them above the Reds.
