Boudewijn Zenden sends message as West Ham United news emerges
Boudewijn Zenden has sent a message to John Heitinga after he has joined the West Ham coaching staff.
The Hammers announced on 5 September that the Dutchman has joined the club as a first-team assistant to David Moyes alongside the appointments of Mark Robson and Henry Newman.
Following the news, Heitinga posted a photo of himself alongside the Irons boss on Instagram, adding in the caption that he was “proud” to be part of the club, with Zenden responding to him by saying “good luck in London”.

Great experience
It’s nice to see Zenden wish Heitinga well after the pair would have briefly played together for the Netherlands at the start of the latter’s career.
The former Everton defender knows Moyes very well from his days at Goodison Park, so the West Ham boss must have plenty of trust in him after bringing him into his coaching team.
The 39-year-old has excellent experience in the game, having made 87 appearances for the superb Dutch side that reached the World Cup final in 2010.

He will be able to pass on his knowledge to the Irons’ defenders and he also has some management experience after recently holding the position of interim coach at Ajax.
Heitinga said in his post that he is looking forward to the upcoming Premier League and European matches after the Hammers have made a promising start to the new season.
