Paul Merson shouts in rage after what happened in West Ham United v Manchester City
Paul Merson was left raging as VAR checked Mohammed Kudus’ wondergoal for West Ham United against Manchester City on Sunday 19 May.
The Irons lost 3-1 on the day at The Etihad Stadium but the Ghana international scored one of the goals of the season with an overhead kick.
As VAR checked the goal, Merson was left shouting live on air as his beloved Arsenal looked to have been given hope in the Premier League title race.
Speaking live on Sky Sports News (16:36, 19 May), Merson was far from happy after VAR nearly stepped in at The Etihad Stadium.
“Get rid of VAR,” he screamed.
VAR to be scrapped in the Premier League?
It has been a major headline this week after Wolves made the first move to try and get rid of VAR, something that grabbed the support of fans everywhere.
Thankfully, they didn’t intervene with this one as Kudus scored arguably the goal of the season for the Hammers on an afternoon which meant very little to them.
David Moyes didn’t expect much from his final game either, with City an incredible force in the Premier League, but at least he got something from it.

Julen Lopetegui will be watching closely as he prepares to take over at the London Stadium, and the Kudus goal was a sign of the magic that he could take to the next level.
The Spaniard will be desperate to keep hold of these big names moving into his first season in charge, and it is vital that David Sullivan and the board will need to deliver that to him.
In other West Ham news, Nigel Reo-Coker believes Graham Potter would take West Ham United to the next level.
