Gabby Agbonlahor stunned by what happened in West Ham United loss v Manchester City
Gabby Agbonlahor was left wowed by Phil Foden as he admitted Manchester City would smash West Ham if they scored early on Sunday 19 May.
City scored after two minutes in the end and went on to win the Premier League title with a 2-0 win at The Etihad Stadium.
David Moyes signed off from his second spell at West Ham with defeat, but nobody will have been expecting much against this incredible Pep Guardiola side.
Speaking live on talkSPORT Final Whistle, as shared on X, Agbonlahor shared what he told everyone before the game even kicked off.
“I said if they score after two minutes, it’s one of those games where it’s going to be 5-0,” he said.
“Foden, I told you, it’s going to be a party atmosphere, I think it’s De Bruyne who knocks it into Foden and he scored a goal like this two weeks ago.
“Top corner, wow.”
Manchester City win Premier League
Although you always want to back your team, it was hard for any West Ham fan to see their team taking anything from the game at the Etihad.
As soon as Foden opened the scoring in the opening minutes, the game was as good as done already and Moyes likely knew that when it hit the back of the net.
West Ham did put up a fight towards the end of the first half, with Mohammed Kudus scoring whilst the Hammers kept the ball more, but the second half was an absolute clinic.
West Ham couldn’t even touch the ball in the end, and it was a stroll in the park to get the three points they needed, something that was inevitable.
Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up, but with Julen Lopetegui set to replace Moyes in the coming days and weeks, there will be more positive football expected from the Spaniard.
Let’s see where that can take the club next season.
