West Ham handed green signal for Georgiy Sudakov transfer

West Ham are reportedly linked with a move for Georgiy Sudakov ahead of the transfer deadline.

Graham Potter wants more new signings at the London Stadium, given how poorly the new campaign has started for his side.

This story includes exclusive insights from injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar, who is a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist.

Sudakov transfer not viewed as high-risk

West Ham have been offered Sudakov, but have not made steps towards signing the attacking midfielder.

ExWHUEmployee reported on 21 July that while the Hammers admire the Ukraine international, he’s not understood to be atop their wishlist.

In case they decide to go ahead with the deal, Dr Rajpal Brar does not view it as a high-risk acquisition.

Last season, Sudakov suffered a muscular injury, but it wasn’t serious and kept him out for only a game.

Speaking about this potential deal, Dr Brar told West Ham Zone: “If his muscular injury from February of last season was a recurrence, the club may take a closer look to assess for any outlier issues that are beyond their risk tolerance.

“This season, he has played regularly, so he seems to be close to, if not at, full fitness.

“I do not see this as a high-risk transfer for a side playing in the Premier League.”

West Ham could now make a late approach for Sudakov

Potter’s side could make a late approach for Sudakov, as he has expressed interest in joining the Premier League.

With Mohammed Kudus’ departure generating funds, the Hammers are eyeing the Ukrainian’s creativity, evidenced by his 15 goals and six assists last season.

Despite Shakhtar’s £40million valuation, his keenness to move to London Stadium could prompt the Irons to negotiate a deal before the transfer window closes.
