West Ham are reportedly considering a move for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov in this transfer window.

Graham Potter wants to put the disappointing 2024/25 campaign in the rear-view mirror as he looks to build a strong side this summer.

He failed to get the Hammers to control games after taking over from Julen Lopetegui, so he has a point to prove next season.

Sudakov offered to the Hammers but a move is not imminent

Sudakov is a highly-rated Ukraine international who will soon be entering his prime.

At 22, the talented midfielder has already won Shakhtar Donetsk's Player of the Year award in 2023 and was named the Ukrainian Premier League Young Player of the Season in the 2019/20 campaign.

Despite being a midfielder, he managed to end the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2023 as the Golden Boot winner.

According to ExWHUEmployee on 21 July, the Hammers have been offered the midfielder this summer.

While West Ham admire Sudakov, he is not understood to be at the top of their priority list.

His price tag is also a concern as he's on the expensive side, but in case other targets are unattainable, a move for him could be prioritised.

West Ham should consider negotiating with Shakhtar for Sudakov

Sudakov would be an excellent signing for West Ham due to his versatility and attacking flair.

With 97 Premier Liga appearances, 29 goals and 17 assists, plus 23 Champions League games under his belt, the 22-year-old Ukrainian midfielder brings proven quality.

His ability to create and score makes him ideal for Potter's system, adding depth and creativity to the London Stadium outfit's midfield while addressing their need for a playmaker.

It makes sense for the club to begin negotiations and see if Shakhtar can lower their asking rate for him.
