‘Chelsea unhappy with situation’ as West Ham backed for Petrovic loan – Exclusive
West Ham could be set to make a summer swoop for Chelsea outcast Djordje Petrovic.
The Hammers are in desperate need of a new keeper moving into the new season after the departure of Lukasz Fabianski at the end of his contract.
This leaves Graham Potter with very limited options in between the sticks as he prepares for his first full season of Premier League action in East London.
A move for Petrovic may have now taken a step closer for the Irons after frustrations emerged at Stamford Bridge ahead of the window’s opening date.

West Ham to land Petrovic deal after Chelsea snub
Throughout the last campaign, Alphonse Areola was used as the number one for large stretches, but a number of mistakes have led to questions about his future.
As a result, the addition of a new first-choice option could prove to be useful for the claret and blue outfit moving into the 2025/26 season.
This has seen the Petrovic emerge as a target for West Ham after a largely positive campaign on loan from the Blues with Strasbourg.

Despite catching the eye in Ligue 1, the Serbia international has been left out of the Chelsea squad for the Club World Cup, which could point towards a potential exit.
This has sparked former Brentford and Leicester City boss Martin Allen into putting the 25-year-old forward as a signing in E20 as frustration continues to build for Chelsea.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Allen said: “They’ll be looking for him to go out on loan or on a permanent deal.
“Whether, at the moment, West Ham can afford a permanent deal or if it will just be a loan for the season with a fee to help Petrovic play in the Premier League and put him in the shop window.
“Maybe if he does well enough, Chelsea could recall him and have him for the rest of the season, because we all know that Chelsea are unhappy with their goalkeeper situation.
“It would be a win for Chelsea to move him on to play in the Premier League, it would be great for the player, and, if he does well, it would be good for West Ham to have a keeper come in to improve the situation.
“It’s a win-win situation all around.“

Petrovic to represent coup for West Ham
The Hammers have been in need of a top goalkeeper for many years, with Areola representing a risk as number one at times.
As a number two, the France international poses a useful option, but it does feel as if Petrovic would be a better choice for Potter and Co.
It will now be interesting to see if Enzo Maresca would be willing to let the Serb go this summer, or whether he has grand designs for the keeper’s future.
