Gianluca Scamacca may be closer to West Ham United door as Italian striker signs up with CAA Stellar agency

West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca may be closer to the London Stadium exit door after he signed up with CAA Stellar agency represented by Jonathan Barnett [2 April].

Reports have swirled in recent weeks regarding the Italian’s immediate future in East London as a swift return to Serie A has been mooted after struggling to adapt to the Premier League.

The frontman has made just 11 starts in England’s top flight, scoring three goals and has recently admitted [19 March] he is determined to improve after his recent injury lay-off.

West Ham United boss David Moyes has been critical of the forward in the recent past claiming that his “physical data” wasn’t at the level required to start games under him which has only heightened the speculation and scrutiny surrounding his future.

Juventus, AC Milan and Inter have all been rumoured to be interested in bringing him back and it’ll be a shame to see such a talented forward leave the Premier League after just under a year spent in England.

The former Sassuolo man has not only had his issues on the pitch but off it too with recurring injury troubles and having to leave his previous agency WSA due to a “lack of trust” in February, as speculation continues to grow about his future.

However, with his future at the club still uncertain and the player having “serious doubts” over his future, the talented hitman has signed with the CAA Stellar agency and is represented by Barnett and David Lee who are known to have prestigious contacts within the game in helping some of their clients gain big moves.

Fabrizio Romano reported on 2 April, via his personal Twitter account:

While the forward may have been desperate to gain some representation of some sort, it is now hugely likely that Barrett and Lee could now be scouring Europe to draw Scamacca away from the London Stadium this summer.

And considering their record in securing big moves, the 24-year-old may well be tempted by a move away with some of Serie A’s biggest clubs reportedly interested.

West Ham

The rumours regarding Scamacca’s future simply aren’t going away, especially with the club currently embroiled in a relegation dogfight which wasn’t expected when he joined from Sassuolo last summer.

However, the Hammers would be silly to let him go, and if they sell for any price lower than the £35.5m fee they paid last summer, that could potentially hurt the club’s financial pockets despite many of their stars looking set to leave too.

We feel West Ham United should desperately look to keep the Italian as he still has much to learn and to develop and could well turn out to be a future world-beater if all goes well at the London Stadium.

Let’s hope CAA stellar agency agrees with that assessment too.
