West Ham United remain interested in Barcelona outcast Marc Casado, with a summer transfer move now on the cards.

The Hammers were reportedly keeping tabs on the Spaniard last summer, but they resisted their temptation as the midfielder stayed with the Culers.

Nuno Espirito Santo will want to make his own signings this summer if he keeps the Irons in the Premier League, and a move for Casado could be high on his list.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, West Ham still have their eyes on the 22-year-old, and a £35million offer is being thought about by clubs in Saudi Arabia.

It’s said that £35m could be enough for Casado, with Barcelona possibly needing to sell to West Ham or another club to raise their own funds.

How has Marc Casado performed this season?

West Ham have long-standing interest in Casado, which stems back to last summer, and given the circumstances of this season, it’s clear to see why David Sullivan and Co. have kept their eyes on him.

Tottenham and Atletico Madrid are two other competitors that the Hammers may have to sign the youngster.

Casado is your typical Spanish midfielder, who has been taught key ball retention skills by Barcelona.

The Barca star has been unused by Hansi Flick for large parts of the season, and it would be no surprise to see him ask for a move this summer.

Casado has previously admitted that he loves Barcelona and wants to fight for his place, but with his playing chances now in further doubt, he could be open to a move.

Casado could be Mateus Fernandes replacement

There has been Premier League interest in Mateus Fernandes this season, despite the Portugese star only coming to the London Stadium in the summer.

The Hammers have been tipped to make a big profit on the former Southampton man, with figures in the region of £70m being suggested as a fee that Sullivan would accept.

If Fernandes were to cut his West Ham stay short already, it would surely have the Hammers in the market for a replacement, with Casado already in their thoughts.

The Spaniard may only be down as a contingency plan for if Fernandes does leave, but he could also be a genuine target for the summer, regardless of what happens with other players.
