West Ham: Mark Lawrenson ‘spectacularly wrong’ on Jarrod Bowen, he still apologises to David Moyes
West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen has managed to prove Mark Lawrenson wrong in his days at the London Stadium.
The England international is now well on his way to becoming the Hammers’ all-time Premier League top scorer as he sits just four goals behind Michail Antonio.
There may not be many players in recent memory for the East London outfit who are deserving of that honour.
He has been a true asset for the Irons across his six years in E20, and will remain confident of keeping his side in the Premier League.
There have been so many good times since Bowen joined West Ham from Hull City, but Lawrenson certainly didn’t see it going so well.

Mark Lawrenson warned David Moyes of Jarrod Bowen signing
There are serious questions to be asked of where the claret and blue outfit would be if they hadn’t signed the forward in 2020.
He has gone on to be arguably the best signing in West Ham’s history, as his consistent goal-scoring has had a massive impact in East London.
| Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |

His strike against Fiorentina remains his crowning moment as he sealed the UEFA Conference League title and that won’t ever be forgotten.
The potential of a European trophy at the London Stadium could have been erased entirely if Lawrenson had his own way.
Speaking via talkSPORT on Wednesday, the former Liverpool man revealed that he told Moyes not to sign him due to his lack of pace.

He said: “I was going to quite a few Preston games many years ago. Moyesy said to me, ‘Have you seen this boy who plays for Hull?’ And I said yes, I have. ‘What do you think?’ he asked. ‘I don’t think he’s quick enough.’
“I got that spectacularly wrong. I think Moyes said he’ll be £15m or something like that, and I said, ‘You’re having a laugh.’ I apologise to him now. If I ever bump into him now, I’ll say I got it wrong.”
He has proven to be a total bargain at the London Stadium, but there is every chance that Bowen could soon be on his way out of West Ham.
Bowen could leave West Ham imminently
This insight from Lawrenson emerged after Ally McCoist questioned whether the Englishman could make a move to Liverpool in the summer.
The Reds will be on the lookout for a new right-winger option after Mohamed Salah confirmed he will leave Anfield at the end of the season.
With the Hammers looking at the potential of relegation, there is every chance that Bowen could be available for a cut-price fee.
His solid ties to West Ham will raise plenty of questions about his future and where he could feature if his side drops into the Championship.
A move to Liverpool would be pretty amazing from a personal perspective, even if it would be a serious blow in East London.
