West Ham: Lukasz Fabianski’s contract examined as expiry date looms at London Stadium
West Ham United keeper Lukasz Fabianski is edging towards the end of his contract at the London Stadium.
The 40-year-old departed the Hammers in an emotional exit at the end of last season after seven years with the claret and blue outfit.
His absence from East London was only felt for a few months before his return was announced as a free agent in September.
That hasn’t made way for any appearances for the Hammers, with the ex-Poland international only featuring for the under-21’s this campaign.
Fabianski is approaching the end of his West Ham deal, and now we have assessed what we know about his current situation.

What is Lukasz Fabianski’s contract situation at West Ham?
The experienced shot stopper was certainly a well-loved figure in E20 after so many years of excellent service in between the sticks.
After his 2017 move from Swansea City, he was a regular until David Moyes began to show favour to Alphonse Areola.

The France international became the number one, but still regularly shared minutes with his Polish counterpart even as recently as last season.
That made his departure all the more surprising, just like his return to East London was on a one-year deal until the summer of 2026.
Reports suggest that Fabianski is earning a weekly salary in the region of £50,000 after returning to E20, with a wage of around £2million under his current deal.
Fabianski did attract Premier League interest over the summer before his return, but could now be on the lookout for another move.
Who could Fabianski join in the summer?
At 40, there is every chance that the keeper could be considering his retirement ahead of the end of the campaign.
That may not be the case if he can seal a move elsewhere to play a similar role to what he has been doing at West Ham this season.
Plenty of Premier League sides could benefit from his experience as a third-choice goalkeeper, with someone like Scott Carson proving the worth of that role.

Even sides fighting for the Champions League, like Aston Villa, could be on the hunt for an experienced head in that role, while a link-up with David Moyes at Everton may be possible.
There is bound to be options on the table for Fabianski in the summer, with the decision likely to be in his hands when he leaves West Ham.
