Mateus Fernandes so out of touch as social media post indicates he only cares about West Ham exit
Mateus Fernandes seems to only care about showing off his individual success on social media following West Ham United‘s relegation from the Premier League.
The midfielder has arguably been one of the best players this season for the Hammers, and there’s an acceptance that he will leave the London Stadium this summer.
David Sullivan needs to raise around £150million in player sales, and Fernandes could help towards more than a third of that target, with his value mooted to break the record Championship sale.
The biggest-ever sale recorded in the Championship was Romeo Lavia’s move to Chelsea from Southampton, which cost around £53m, as he looks to leave the Hammers just 12 months after joining for £40m.
Fernandes or his agent is clearly pushing for a sale, and his latest social media post suggests he wants to get himself the best club possible.

Mateus Fernandes selling himself to other clubs on social media
Fernandes is linked with multiple Premier League clubs, including the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal, with PSG also said to be monitoring his performances.
There is no doubt that the 21-year-old deserves to move on to better things following relegation, but the least he could do is show appreciation to the fans right now.

Several West Ham players like Jarrod Bowen, Callum Wilson, and even loan signing Axel Disasi have come out to thank the fans and apologise for how the season has gone.
However, as seen by West Ham Central on X, Fernandes’ first thought has been to share a story on his Instagram that includes his personal rating for the season.
It would be no surprise if this were a move from his agent, but either way, it’s completely tone-deaf.

Let’s hope that the Hammers can rake in as much as possible for the Portuguese star, who will undoubtedly go on to have a stellar careeer.
However, it kind of feels like he was always planning on leaving the Irons after this season, regardless of relegation.
How much can West Ham realistically get for Fernandes?
Had the Hammers stayed in the Premier League, they would have had a leg to stand on in negotiations for Fernandes’ sale.
But now it’s been reported that the Irons are desperate for sales, which doesn’t help their case in transfer discussions.

West Ham most likely could have asked for £80m if they were still a Premier League side, but it’s going to be less than that, with the likes of Morgan Rogers valued at the same price for Aston Villa this summer.
A sale of around £60m could be realistic, and that would leave Sullivan with roughly another £90m to generate through exits this summer.
