Konstantinos Mavropanos is in contract talks with West Ham United, West Ham Zone can exclusively reveal

We understand that several European clubs want to sign the Greek international, who has made 96 appearances for the Irons, in the summer transfer window.

The Hammers and the 28-year-old are yet to come to an agreement over a new deal, according to our sources.

Mavropanos has been a rock at the back for West Ham this season, so they will surely be keen on keeping him around for the long-term.

Mavropanos’ current West Ham contract expires in 2028, so the East London side still has some security over his future.

However, given the interest in his services, they will surely be keen to tie him down to a new deal in the near future, rather than letting him depart.

We can reveal that clubs in Serie A, La Liga and the Bundesliga are circling and chasing the 40-cap international’s signature.

Whether they are Milan, Villarreal and Borussia Dortmund, who were all interested last summer is not known at this point.

Why West Ham cannot let Mavropanos leave

The Hammers cannot let Mavropanos leave anytime soon, it is that simple.

He has played 24 times, with 20 starts, since the Portuguese boss took over at the London Stadium in September, and had a remarkable turnaround in that time.

He has recorded an 82.7 per cent pass accuracy in that time, which suggests that he plays a key part in their build-up from the back.

Defensively, he has averaged 2.96 ball recoveries, 6.63 clearances and 1.42 tackles per game, which is very solid numbers at the back.

They need to come to a compromise, one that means that Mavropanos is happy to come to an agreement over a new deal and commit his future to the E20 outfit.

He has completely turned his Irons fortunes around, and he deserves to be rewarded for that, otherwise, he could walk away, and the Hammers would regret that, as he is becoming a top-class option for them at the moment.
