Feyenoord have fingers crossed as Crysencio Summerville days away from West Ham exit decision

Feyenoord could be in line to profit if Crysencio Summerville departs West Ham United this summer.

A miserable campaign comes down to one final 90 minutes on Sunday, when West Ham welcome Leeds to the London Stadium.

Anything less than a win will relegate the Hammers, who could also face the drop if Tottenham avoid defeat against Everton.

Their Premier League status will be confirmed on Sunday, as will the likely future of several stars who have been mooted for moves away.

Summerville has been heavily linked with an exit, and if he were to depart, Feyenoord may be in line to benefit.

The transfer clause that could benefit Feyenoord

West Ham signed Summerville from Leeds back in 2024, and that transfer has already seen Feyenoord pocket an additional seven-figure fee.

Since then, the Dutchman has scored eight goals for the Irons, while also contributing four assists.

Seven of those goals have come this season, which is where most of the transfer interest has stemmed from, with Roma among those named as interested parties.

And if an exit were to happen, and for a profit, Feyenoord could generate another six-figure sum from the sale, as a result of the solidarity scheme.

Soccer News reports that the Dutch outfit would be entitled to another payment in the region of £691,000 if West Ham were to get at least £34million for his exit.

Does Summerville have a relegation release clause?

Unlike when the Hammers signed Summerville from Leeds, the winger does not have a release clause in his contract in the event of relegation.

Ultimately, that could benefit them in the summer, given that they will hold the cards when it comes to setting a price for him.

West Ham will need to generate funds; however, if they are relegated, meaning they may have to settle for less than initially hoped, though any deal will almost certainly represent profit.

Targets have already likely been lined up in terms of replacing the forward, who has had a big part to play in their hunt for survival.
