Ezra Mayers cannot be happy as West Ham eye a move for Natan
Ezra Mayers could be wondering when his proper chance at West Ham United will arrive as the Irons are linked with Natan.
Currently at the E20 outfit, there are two left-footed centre-backs. Mayers and Max Kilman, with the latter likely to depart after failing to impress.
Kilman has not set himself in good lighting among the Hammers fanbase.
For Mayers, in this campaign, he has featured in the Premier League on six occasions, and next season would have been viewed as a chance for further opportunities.
But ahead of the summer window for West Ham, they have begun to register interest in left-footed defenders, potentially blocking Mayers’ path.

Natan transfer could halt Ezra Mayers’ West Ham pathway
West Ham are hoping to return for Natan, who they chased in the winter window before signing Axel Disasi.
The Frenchman will want to remain at West Ham, but the Irons may need another left-sided centre-back in the event Kilman leaves, or will they?

Although Mayers has not been given much of a chance this season, he has shown plenty of promise for Nuno’s side.
Over his 134 minutes, he has won 75 per cent of his aerial duels as per Sofascore. Furthermore, he has maintained an 84 per cent passing accuracy.
Overall, it is the data of a player who does not lack confidence and can certainly have a strong impact in this Hammers side.
Additionally, keeping Mayers and selling Kilman would reduce the wage bill drastically in East London.

Could Ezra Mayers leave on loan?
Mayers is clearly rated at London Stadium, having signed a new contract in October 2025, keeping him for a further three years.
However, if the Hammers are to stay in the Premier League, a loan move could be best for the young talent.

It already feels like Nuno believes he is not yet ready for the step up to the top flight, having yet to start a single game.
If West Ham go down, keeping him for the Championship could be the ideal move. The drop in quality may be beneficial for his development.
But that is an outcome nobody wants and leaves a loan elsewhere as the best solution for everyone involved.
