Edson Alvarez in West Ham exit talks as mass exodus begins
Edson Alvarez could leave West Ham United in favour of a move back to his home country.
Relegation to the Championship comes with several consequences, with player exits among the most prominent.
The Hammers will have already been resigned to losing several of their key players, with the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Mateus Fernandes heavily mooted for moves away.
Alvarez spent the previous campaign on loan at Fenerbahce, where he made 18 appearances across all competitions, though a return is unlikely.
However, an exit from West Ham is almost nailed on with talks already underway.

Edson Alvarez exit update will not benefit West Ham
The Hammers need to sell some of their high earners in the summer, though, for Alvarez, that seems unlikely to be the case.
That is because Mexican newspaper El Universal have reported that Monterrey have already opened talks with Alvarez with a view to a loan move.

The 28-year-old is said to be one of their priority targets ahead of the summer window, with reports elsewhere stating that a deal is expected to happen.

Alvarez has two years left on his contract at West Ham, having signed for the club back in 2023.
Who else could leave West Ham?
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also likely to be among the first players out of the exit door, with reports emerging connecting him with a move to Everton.
The Toffees could pay a fee in the region of £10million to land the former Man United star, whose performances have dropped off massively in the last 12 months.
Taty Castellanos has also been linked with a move to Fulham, while Crysencio Summerville’s future is another to keep an eye on.
West Ham will be expected to part ways with an overwhelming majority of last season’s squad, leaving them with a lot of work to do in the coming months.
