Axel Disasi future takes fresh twist as West Ham transfer lined up elsewhere

Axel Disasi has been linked with a permanent move to West Ham United.

The Hammers remain at risk of relegation with just three games to go, though their efforts since the turn of the year have certainly boosted their chances of survival.

And among those who have played a key role are Konstantinos Mavropanos and Disasi at the heart of defence.

Mavropanos looks likely to quit the London Stadium regardless of the relegation outcome, while Disasi has been mooted for a permanent switch.

However, West Ham’s pursuit of Disasi could be called off, with the Hammers linked with a move to sign Jan Ziolkowski.

Jan Ziolkowski news puts Axel Disasi transfer in doubt

Reports emerged earlier this week linking West Ham with a move for Ziolkowski.

But not only that, the same report claims that the Irons were leading the way for his signature ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Polish defender is likely to cost a fee in the region of £17.2million, and is said to be eyeing up a move that can guarantee him playing time.

If Disasi were to stay at the London Stadium, Ziolkowski would struggle to get those assurances, given how well he has fared this season.

And at the same time, it would seem strange for West Ham to eye a move for the Roma star if they had full confidence behind a deal for the Frenchman.

Disasi transfer would make the most sense

West Ham have taken far too many risks with their recruitment over the last few years, and that will need to end this summer.

Disasi has been an excellent addition to the Hammers’ defensive shape, and his impact is only likely to grow with more and more gametime.

Depending on the finances involved in a deal, it would make far more sense for the Irons to pursue him as opposed to another unknown entity.
